Day 5

Are you active in the trans or LGBTQ community? If so, how?

There isn’t anything to get involved in here where I live but I will be getting more involved once I move next month.

Day 4

How did your family take it when you came out? or, if you’re not out yet, what’s holding you back?

I came out to my family in November 2011. I wouldn’t say they took it particularly bad they just don’t understand it; and they would rather pretend that I never told them then try to understand.

I kind of understood at first but its been almost seven months since I’ve told them. The only thing I get are comments from my dad (some good; some bad) and tiny conversations with my mom that she walks out on when she doesn’t get her way. 

I’m not all that upset about it though. I’ve never had a real connection with my mom and my dad has always been the one to joke about things. That’s how he deals with things he doesn’t understand.
